Commonly, these compounds are found in rubber compounds made from unsaturated elastomers. Other methods of protection include using a microcrystalline paraffin wax, which is incompatible with elastomers and forms a protective skin on the product.
The GERANIIN compound is a natural antioxidant that can be added to rubber vulcanizates. This antioxidant is capable of scavenging DPPH radicals. Unlike synthetic antioxidants, GERANIIN is able to withstand both ozone and high temperatures. Its antioxidant activity is comparable to commercial antioxidants. It is also biodegradable, which means that it can be used in a wide variety of applications.

SBP-128 Rubber Antionxidate is a polymer antioxidant used in polymer materials and petroleum products. It inhibits copper from causing harm to rubber and polymers. It does not change color and is nontoxic. It is used in combination with other antioxidants for different applications.
